Laker Dance Team Earns Two State Titles

The Laker Dance Team successfully defended last year's state championship by winning not just one, but two state titles this past Saturday at the OSAA State Championships at the Salem Pavilion. With this year's newly adopted format, the Lakers took home the state championship in Pom with a score of 91.75. They also won the Hip Hop state championship in dominating fashion with a score of 89.03, beating the next best team by nearly eight points. Congratulations Lakers!

Snowboarders Compete At State

Congratulations to the LOHS snowboard riders who competed last week at the OISA State Championships. For the girls team, top-15 finishers included Thea Watzke (11th in banked slalom), Elsa McGuire (11th in slopestyle) and Link Hendrickson (14th in banked slalom). For the boys, Caleb Cagnoni had two top-15 finishes, placing 4th in banked slalom and 6th in slopestyle. Go Lakers!

S.T.A.R. Sportsmanship Reminder

With winter sports competitions underway, we are reminding our student-athletes, coaches and spectators of our continued focus on sportsmanship. Participants and spectators need to be aware of their role in creating a safe and welcoming environment and know that they will be held accountable for their actions if they are not able to remain positive. The OSAA and LOHS request that you help create an environment of Safety, Tolerance, Acceptance, and Respect. We call it being a S.T.A.R. Show your enthusiasm. Show your spirit. And show respect as well. Show our students a supportive atmosphere in which they can be their best... and they might just show you greatness.
