Tony Vandenberg, Executive Director of Project Management
Tony began working with LOSD in a consultant role in March 2018 as the Program Manager for the 2017 Bond program. He is an accomplished program/project manager with strong sustainability and technical credentials. His K-12 construction experience with Heery Construction Management ranges from remodels to new construction. He brings a positive, solution-minded approach to projects and team relationships. His management skills will improve communications between the contractors, owners, and team members.
With more than a decade of practical building experience, Tony has garnered an extensive and fine-tuned knowledge of building methods and materials, allowing for detailed quality reviews. His experience includes program management of West Linn-Wilsonville School District’s $84.5M 2014 Bond Program, which built one new middle school, replaced one primary school and provided district-wide technology infrastructure and safety upgrades, as well as two high school additions.
As Deputy Program Manager for Portland Public School’s $482M 2012 Bond Program, he was responsible for developing standard operating procedures to deliver the projects, which provided guidance to the Project Teams. He was also the administrator for the project management information system, eBuilder. When he worked with West Linn-Wilsonville on their 2008 bond, he provided support for the construction of Trillium Creek Primary School, a $16M two-story LEED Gold certified building.
Tony attended the University of Wisconsin – Stout and studied in England at the Southampton Institute. He belongs to the Construction Management Association of America and has served the local chapter for years. He is currently the immediate past president of the chapter. Tony is also a member of the Association of Learning Environments, Design-Build Institute of America, and also the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
