Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

May 1-31

The Lake Oswego School Board adopted a resolution for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This nationally recognized month honors the profound contributions and influence of Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans on the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Our district proudly acknowledges the lasting legacy and continuous impact of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, who have significantly shaped America's history and play a crucial role in our future success.

In May, we reflect and celebrate the vital role that Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPIs) have played in our shared history. Many of our students and families participate in festivals and celebrations held in collaboration with our local city government and community members.
