Child Abuse Prevention
During the 2007 legislative session, Oregon legislators passed Senate Bill 379, "Child Abuse Training for School Employees, Parents and Students." The law requires all school district and education service district employees to annually participate in child abuse prevention training. This training is also available for parents and students.
In response to this legal requirement, the Oregon Association of Education Service Districts has sponsored the development of an on-line "Child Abuse Identification, Prevention, and Reporting Training" that can be accessed by clicking the Public School Works Parent Information Center link.
The training takes less than one hour to complete and can be completed in multiple sessions, if necessary.
