ABOUT THE PTO
The River Grove Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) provides sponsorship of activities and support of programs for the direct benefit of our River Grove students, teachers and families. All families of River Grove students are invited to participate in PTO activities and events!
We are excited for the 2023-24 school year and the opportunity to bring our community together. This year the PTO is supporting Art Literacy, Field Trips, Special Assemblies, STEAM Fair, Art & Craft Fair, Oregon Battle of the Books, 5th grade graduation events, and Teacher Support and Curriculum Enrichment by Grade Level.
Each of these activities and so many more are made possible by the generous donations of River Grove families and community members. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the PTO General Meetings every third Tuesday of every month from 7-8:00pm.
PTO OBJECTIVE
The River Grove PTO objective is to enhance our children's learning environment via community building activities, curriculum support, and facility enhancements. Your child will spend six years in elementary school, three years in junior high and four in high school. Given that almost 50% of their time is spent here, it’s a great place to start to lay the foundation for future success. Welcome to a community that not only values education, but backs it up every year.
Examples of programs the PTO supports:
- Teacher Grants - provided funds support classroom materials and field trips
- Art Literacy - artist focused education and projects in the classroom
- STEAM Fair - curious questions are researched and presented by students
- Art & Craft Fair - students can showcase and sell their creations alongside professional vendors
- Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) - statewide reading competition for grades 3-5
- Library Books - purchase new books for our school library
- Seasonal Festivals - school community can join together to celebrate special occasions
- Classroom parties - classroom parents organize special parties throughout the year
- Yearbooks - each student is provided a yearbook
How can River Grove parents assist the PTO?
ATTEND PTO MEETINGS
River Grove PTO Meetings occur on the third Tuesday of every month. During our meetings we provide important information on all upcoming events.
VOLUNTEER
We support about 30 events a year and we could not run all of our events successfully without the help of our fantastic parent volunteers. We look forward to your support in order to continue the educational enrichment valued by the River Grove community. Any amount of time you have to volunteer is appreciated.
FUNDRAISING
Please consider participating in our upcoming fundraisers during the school year. Every little bit helps and 100% of all the money raised goes back directly to River Grove.
Get connected to your school, tap into a network of families and be a role model to your child by demonstrating the importance you place on education. Our entire PTO Executive Board looks forward to working with you on another productive and successful school year! If you have any questions or would like to contact the PTO with any ideas, please email PTO@rivergrovepto.org.
The River Grove PTO welcomes donations all year round and every amount helps! Please donate here. THANK YOU!
