Greetings Hallinan Families,
My name is Melissa Griffiths and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Hallinan Elementary School. I am honored to have been selected to join the Hallinan team, which is known for its compassionate, creative, hard-working staff; supportive, generous, kind parents; and smart, funny, friendly students! Hallinan is dedicated to excellence, but more importantly, to children.
Over the past decade, I have worked as a 3/4 teacher at Lake Grove Elementary for seven years and as the Director of Community School for four years. Education is my passion. I believe that all students can learn; and I aspire to a school culture and educational programs conducive to student learning and development. The Hallinan staff will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. We will celebrate their successes, small and large. As a team we will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community. This is how we create a culture of excellence here at Hallinan.
Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to see your children through your eyes. I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at Hallinan. And, of course I will be here to support you and your children to navigate any aspect of the school. Being the Hallinan principal is a dream come true, and I will ensure your children have the best possible experiences while at Hallinan.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children.
It is going to be an amazing year!
