Counseling Department Overview

  • ASCA LOJ School Counseling Program

As members of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) WE BELIEVE in a school counseling program that is a collaborative effort benefitting students, parents, staff and the overall community.  The LOJHS school counseling program is an integral part of students' daily educational environment. We are partners in their academic/personal/social/college and career readiness preparedness and success.  As counselors, we work with students as a team for their three years at LOJHS. We move to the next grade as the students move. This model allows us to implement a true ASCA comprehensive guidance and counseling program for our students, teachers, staff  families and the community.

    Our Mission Statement:

Our goal is to promote a commitment to lifelong learning and to aid students in becoming responsible, culturally aware and productive members of society. This foundation will be supported and further strengthened by consultation and communication with parents, educators, administrators and community resources. In collaboration with all other LOJ staff, the counselors are committed to ensuring a learning environment where students feel empowered, are engaged as learners and are passionate about what they do.
