LOSD Strategic Plan
Lake Oswego School District is proud to be ranked the number one school district in Oregon and among the best in the nation. This distinction is a testament to the exceptional quality of education in our elementary, middle, and high schools. No matter the age of your children or the neighborhood you call home, families in Lake Oswego can rest assured they are part of a community where education thrives.
Our success is not by chance—it’s the result of a community that values education and understands the profound impact strong schools have on our collective future. Being number one motivates us to continually strive for improvement, stay true to our core values, and embrace innovation.
Our strategic plan is the foundation of this ongoing effort. Developed over 18 months—during the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic—it reflects the resilience, collaboration, and determination of our students, staff, families, and community members. Through adversity, we have uncovered our greatest strengths and the challenges we are determined to overcome.
A recurring theme throughout the process was the importance of relationships. The connections between students and teachers, families and schools, and the district and the community are central to our identity and success. These relationships allow us to converse honestly about what makes us strong and what we can do better.
Our strategic plan is more than a framework—it’s a shared vision of who we are, who we aspire to be, and the impact we aim to have. It provides clear guidance:
- Our mission defines why we exist today.
- Our vision captures what we aspire to achieve tomorrow.
- Our values guide our daily decisions and actions.
- Our priorities focus our efforts on putting our mission and vision into practice.
Together, these elements ensure that we remain focused on educational excellence and responsive to our students' evolving needs. We invite you to explore our strategic plan and join us in shaping a future that continues to inspire and empower every student in Lake Oswego
