LOSD Superintendent to Provide Statement at Re-Opening of Forest Hills Elementary School
Lake Oswego School District is announcing the confirmation of its plans to reopen Forest Hills Elementary School on Thursday, Mar. 5. School begins at 8:10 a.m.
We anticipate a significant number of media outlets covering students returning to Forest Hills. LOSD wants to continue facilitating the dissemination of important information to the media while ensuring our students, staff and families have a positive and welcoming back-to-school experience.
Permission on Campus
Dr. Lora de la Cruz, Superintendent for LOSD, will be making a statement to reporters at the entrance of Forest Hills on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 6:15 a.m. Reporters and camera crews are welcome on the school campus during that time. Afterward, we ask that reporters and camera crews situate in the covered area to the right of the front entrance if interested in filming students being greeted by Patrick Shuckerow, principal of Forest Hills, and Dr. de la Cruz between 7:50-8:10 a.m. We ask that all media have a visible badge of affiliation while on school property.
Forest Hills is located in a neighborhood with narrow streets and limited sidewalks. The streets around Forest Hills get extremely congested as early as 7:30 a.m. Two streets (Andrews Rd. and Sunningdale Rd.) surrounding the Forest Hills property are reserved for the bus and car drop off lines. If at all possible, please leave these streets clear. We strongly recommend parking on the side streets northeast of 10th Street.
If you intend to request comments from families arriving at school, please approach parents off school property.
Thank you in advance for your continued respect and understanding in covering this sensitive story.
