    REGISTRATION AND ENROLLMENT GUIDELINES

    OUT OF DISTRICT STUDENT?

    Are you an out of district student interested in attending Lake Oswego schools? Our School Board will set guidelines for the 2020-21 school year in December 2019*. Please check back for updated information after December 20, 2019. 

    High School Open House Events: Typically occur in February. Please check back for dates.

    High School Shadow Days: Please contact the high schools directly to inquire about scheduling a shadow or informational day.

    For your information, the 2019-20 guidelines are listed below. We can't predict what the School Board will decide, but this will provide information on the current guidelines.

    2019-20 Guidelines

    • There are TWO options for Out of District High School students to enroll in Lake Oswego School District for the 2019-20 school year:

      • Obtain an Inter-District Transfer from your resident district - we accept all high school Inter-District transfer students. Please contact your resident district for release information and timelines.

      • Apply as a Tuition student - $8,000/year.  We accept all high school Tuition students - there are no limits or lotteries.

    • Elementary and Middle School Out of District students are NOT eligible for enrollment.

    *The School Board typically releases guidelines for eligibility for Out of District enrollment in December of each year. 

     

    CURRENT STUDENT MOVING?

    Are you a current Lake Oswego School District student considering a move? Our School Board will set guidelines for the 2020-21 school year in December 2019*. Until then, we can't provide any definitive answers as to enrollment eligibility for the 2020-21 school year. Please check back for updated information after December 20, 2019. 

    Mid-Year Move: If you move out of the district or within the district - your student will be allowed to finish the 2019-20 school year at their current school.

    2019-20 Guidelines

    If you are a current LOSD student who moves out of LOSD, you would then be an "Out of District" student:

    • There are TWO options for Out of District High School students to enroll in Lake Oswego School District for the 2019-20 school year:

      • Obtain an Inter-District Transfer from your resident district - we accept all high school Inter-District transfer students. Please contact your resident district for release information and timelines.

    If you are a current LOSD student who moves within LOSD:

    • Elementary: In-district elementary transfer requests will be approved on a space-available basis and require an annual application.

    • Middle School: In-district elementary transfer requests will be approved on a space-available basis and require the signature of both principals.

    • High School: Transfer requests for current district students due to moves within the district will be approved.

    • School Boundary Search Database can be used to verify addresses/school boundaries.

    MOVING TO THE DISTRICT?

    • For inquiries about moving to the Lake Oswego School District please contact the school in which your child(ren) will be enrolling.

    • For information about Geographical boundaries determine the attendance area for each school in Lake Oswego. Search for your resident school by entering your address in our SchoolSearch database.
     

    ENTERING KINDERGARTEN IN 2020-21?

    • Open to students who will be five years old by September 1.

    • Kindergarten Information Nights: Typically occur in January. Please check back for dates.

    • Geographical boundaries determine the attendance area for each school in Lake Oswego. Search for your resident school by entering your address in our SchoolSearch database.

    • Online registration will be used for enrollment.
