    Message From our Librarian

The school year is almost over and that means it's time to think about what to read for pleasure this summer !

Our school libraries may be closed, but our Overdrive digital library is open every day of the year, and is well stocked with ebooks and audio.

Please share the attached Overdrive/LOSD Digital Library flier and bookmarks with students and their families.

You and your students will also find hundreds of audiobooks in the school Overdrive account, perfect for that summer road trip. Download audiobooks

using the new Sora app for your mobile device. Of course, summer reading should also include print books from Lake Oswego Public Library. Here's the video announcement for the Teen Summer Reading Program:

LO Public Library also has a summer reading program for grown ups.

Wishing you a summer full of sunshine, fun, and plenty of books!

    Medication Pick Up

Lake Monsters Robotics FREE Summer and Fall Classes

    • CAD Boot Camp

Monday, August 13 through Thursday, August 16 at 6-9 pm

    • Robo Pizza Open House for Lake Oswego Robotics Programs

Wednesday, September 5 at 6:30-8 pm at LHS Room F28

    • Robotics Fall Training

                    Mon. and Wed., September 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 and 26 at 6-9 pm

Are you interested in engineering? Thinking about joining a robotics team? Want to learn CAD?

If you’re a student in grades 9-12 who answered yes to any of these questions, join the Lake Monsters Robotics team for a free 4-day CAD Boot Camp on August 13-16 from 6-9 pm.

LO Robotics and LOSD Community School collaborate to sponsor four high school robotics teams – three FTC teams and one FRC team (Lake Monsters). The teams have different membership requirements and practice schedules, and all four are looking for new members in the fall. CAD is one of the fundamental skills used in robotics, so the boot camp is a great way to learn a new technology, while being introduced to the different teams.

Want to learn how robotics works? Take part in a free Robotics Fall Training with the Lake Monsters Robotics team on Monday and Wednesday nights on September 10, 12, 17, 19, 24 and 26 from 6-9 pm. At this exciting, in-depth training, you’ll learn how to use heavy machinery, software and electrical design for robots, and CAD design basics for building competition-ready robots.

Participation is free, but students must register by July 31 to reserve a spot and receive additional information.

To register for the CAD Boot Camp or the Robotics Fall Training (or to get more information), please send an email to lakemonsters2635@gmail.com. Please include your full name, school, grade, phone number, email and any questions – and we'll get back to you with details.

If you are ever concerned about a student’s well-being, feel free to reach out to us. It is important to keep our lines of communication open and maintain strong partnerships with students, families, staff, and other resources.

SafeOregon also is an effective way to report a tip regarding safety threats or potential acts of violence to our students or school.

(Students should know that intentionally providing a false report is a serious offense.)
